This department is concerned with the evaluation diagnosis and treatment of various respiratory diseases like tuberculosis, pneumonia, bronchial asthma, COPD, ILD, lung cancer, pleural effusion, etc. The department offers both outdoor and indoor facilities. Advanced facilities like bronchoscopy, sleep study, and non-invasive ventilation are offered here.About the Pulmonology Department
The Department of Respiratory/ Pulmonology & Sleep Medicine deals with the diseases affecting the lungs and the respiratory system. It has the capability for the evaluation & management of the entire range of acute & chronic respiratory diseases such as Asthma and respiratory allergies, COPD, ILD, Lung cancer, Autoimmune disorders, Pneumonia, TB, sleep-related disorders, and chest wall disorders. The department is integrated with the department of critical care in order to provide comprehensive care to patients requiring life support. A team of highly qualified intensive care specialists are available round the clock. Apart from the expertise, the department is well equipped with the latest diagnostic & therapeutic technologies in the field of respiratory care.

- Therapeutic pleural aspiration, Intercostal Drainage Procedures for Pneumothorax, Empyema, Malignant effusion, etc.
- Betadine & Talc Pleurodesis for malignant pleural effusion.
- Flexible bronchoscopy under Local and general anesthesia.
- Brochoscopy guided Management of Hemoptysis.
- Evaluation for Chest Infections, Hemoptysis, Lung mass, Pre OP assessment before Thoracic surgery.
- Foreign body (Food particle, Betel) removal from respiratory tract.
- Thoracoscopy (Semirigid) for evaluation of pleural effusion(Biopsy, Talc Pleurodesis) and pleural biopsy.

The pulmonary department is organizing a yearly conference dedicated to pulmonology wherein India’s and the world’s best doctors are invited to deliver lectures. In this conference, the latest modalities of the treatment in pulmonary medicine is discussed. Our doctors also go to attend and deliver lectures in various state, national and international conferences.
